I’ve been trying the neighborhood eateries one by one.
Guilin Rice Noodles
There’s another name written on the sign too… Chinese characters are hard…
Menu
Reasonable prices.
Table
There’s all sorts of stuff to pile onto your noodles…
Noodles
The broth was clean and refreshing, so it was pretty good. But the rice noodles are pulled this thick, and they’re not chewy either, so this style isn’t really to my taste. Anyway, the broth is good, so it seems like a fine place to come for a hangover cure.
Blanched lettuce?
It’s the salad. In China they seem to eat a lot of vegetables blanched in oil…
Sauce
You could make yourself a spicy, punchy broth with it. Being able to enjoy flavors from all over, starting with Guilin’s noodles, is probably one of Shenzhen’s strengths. Though… it does seem like it’s mostly places from around Shenzhen. Hunan and the like… I figured things would probably change again once you head inland…
