I don’t know how many of you think of Liu Bei from Romance of the Three Kingdoms when you hear “Shu,” but anyway, in China, if a restaurant has “Shu” in its name, you can assume it’s Sichuan cuisine.
A place like this
It’s a chain. The sign says Huang Shu Lang (黄蜀郎).
Apparently they’re known for spicy dishes..
It’s not just Hunan food that’s spicy; Sichuan food is spicy too, so when I’m craving something hot, this is the kind of place to go.
Menu
The whole thing is red..
Rice
This one is pretty ordinary..
Sichuan dish
A bit spicy.
Sichuan dish
Well.. the base is pretty much the same..
Sichuan dish
Decent enough.
Sichuan dish
It’s not a special restaurant, but it seems like a fine place to go when you just want something a bit spicy.
