Pork Trotter Rice in Shenzhen: Yukgang Guang Pork Trotter Rice

Yukgang Guang Pork Trotter Rice is a chain. I was passing by and dropped in.

The place

Branch number 72, so I guess it’s a fairly major chain.

Menu

There’s a lot written up there, but basically one topping is 19 yuan and two toppings are 23 yuan. You’d go for two, right?

This is what it looks like.

Pretty spacious and nicely done.

There’s even a spot for drinking cola..

Side dishes are self-serve

Pork trotter and char siu

This is tastier than the pork trotter rice I had before.

Pork trotter and sausage?

Tastes good. The trotter is a bit different in style from the Korean kind, but for eating over rice this version is better. The half egg seemed to be a freebie, by the way.

Anyway, it comes out fast-food style in a generous portion and the price isn’t bad either, so it struck me as the Chinese version of gyudon. If there were rice like this near my office, I’d probably eat it every day.

The neighborhood

Looked like plenty of people around.. I wanted to check out places like this if I had the time, but the time never came up..
