After doing a loop of the places you can visit for free, I went to the ones that charge admission.
The English House
You can do Sherlock Holmes cosplay here. The set is done pretty well.
Whisky bar
So they have this kind of thing too..
From afar..
So this is what an English bar looks like, I guess..
English garden
Nicely done.
Garden
Really pretty.
Painting
The criminals
Lots of famous names like Moriarty and Hyde.. makes me wonder if this was the age of criminals..
Sherlock Holmes props
Sherlock Holmes props
They seem to have recreated everything in careful detail.
Crime scene
Only the readers will know what this is..
Sherlock Holmes’s study
A bit cramped for someone to actually live in.. but I’d have to say this one is well recreated too..
Sherlock Holmes and Watson
This must be the standard image of Holmes and Watson. Though these days Cumberbatch’s image is probably the stronger one..
Items
There really are a lot of Sherlock Holmes nerds in the world.. I wonder if there will be many in the future too..
Dining table
Official Sherlock Holmes certificate
So they’re doing this with proper certification..
Humpty Dumpty
The garden has all sorts of features too.
Another Ijinkan. I think this one was the French one.
It was decorated like some kind of theme park? Or a museum. The English House was worth seeing if you’re a Sherlock Holmes fan, but the other ones.. hmm.. fine if you see them, fine if you don’t, that kind of feeling.
Louis Vuitton bags
Looks expensive..
Wallpaper
Each room seemed to have its own theme, but I’m not really sure..
Mona Lisa
This is the white room..
This kind of concept
It is artistic, I’ll give it that.
Surreal clocks
It’s decorated well enough that the admission fee doesn’t feel like a waste, but if you’re short on time, skipping it wouldn’t matter much.
Deer
This is the Ijinkan with the taxidermy collection, but I’ve forgotten the details..
Bear
It’s huge.. I’d probably freeze if I saw one in real life..
Butterfly specimens
Tiger face
Various masks..
I enjoyed it well enough. But I don’t think it’s worth spending extra money on.. Then again.. maybe it’s by spending money on places like this that the city of Kobe gets by..
Rokko Farm Cafe
There was a cafe that looked like it would have tasty soft serve, but I skipped it because I was out of time. If you want to cover Kobe city in a day, you have to move fast..
