After going around the Ijinkan district I came back to Sannomiya, but I was a bit too tired to move on to the next item on the itinerary, so I stopped by TOOTH TOOTH. At first glance it looked like a great place to take a short break.
Front entrance
Looks great.
Cakes
Kobe has always been strong on desserts, and this place seems to do them well too.
Interior
It’s beautifully decorated.
Cake menu
Everything looked delicious, but some items were already sold out… It really is popular, it seems…
Interior
Very stylish. I guess this is what Kobe is all about…
Grape juice
That’s what I remember it being, anyway. The taste was so-so…
Chaperon
The cake called Chaperon is a baked cheesecake, and it tasted a bit like rich yogurt with an absolutely exquisite milky flavor… Add the sweetness of the strawberry sauce to that and it’s heavenly. It’s been a really long time since I had a cake with such perfect balance.
Juice
This was kind of meh… Not bad, but not that great either?
Kobe beef charcuterie
This was decent for the price. Since I’d come all the way to Kobe, having Kobe beef once was a good idea, and while it wasn’t exactly cheap, it was a plate that felt meaningful in its own way.
Potato chips
These looked tasty, but there was so much salt that they were too salty. Probably a cooking slip-up… hmm… this is something they need to improve.
Anyway, whatever the quibbles, I think it’s worth stopping by again just for the cakes. I need to try at least three more kinds, for starters…
