After buying and trying all sorts of rye breads, I ordered some bread from Roggenheim, the one I liked best among them.

Packaging

A whole-grain rye loaf, the authentic German Pumpernickel, and a rye bread, the Schrotbrot. They arrived carefully packaged. I ordered by delivery and it came just a day after ordering, so I suspect they had some extra loaves baked ahead of time. I can only be grateful.

Authentic Pumpernickel

The sourness is just right for eating.. I personally wouldn’t mind it even more sour, but I think this is about the right level..(it has a slight umeboshi-like note too..)

Schrotbrot

This one is tasty too. Maybe because it has whole rye grains inside, it has a nice chew. Places like Sudeobun really do make delicious rye bread, but as a meal I think this one is better.
