Street Scenes of Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Once again I’m just posting the scenes I shot while wandering around here and there. It was a business trip, so I hardly took any photos of tourist spots; instead I’m posting neighborhood shots.

A building like this

Cambodia street.

I suspect it’s a building optimized for the Cambodian heat. But I’ve heard Cambodia’s power supply isn’t great… I’m a bit curious what things will look like once Cambodia gets wealthier.

A cafe

Cambodia street.

I guess in every country, kids lying around staring at their smartphones is the universal rule.

A glass of milk

Cambodia street.

A Cambodian government office

Cambodia street.

I ended up stopping by somehow.

Downtown

Cambodia street.

Lots of the buildings are nice, but the streets, not so much…

A Chinese car company

Cambodia street.

They’ve expanded even to places like this.

Neighborhood scenery

Cambodia street.

It has an old-town kind of vibe.

Neighborhood scenery

Cambodia street.

Very Southeast Asia.

The neighborhood

Cambodia street.

Where tradition and modernity coexist…

Coffee

Cambodia street.

So there was a character like this.

A gas station

Cambodia street.

The weather was nice that day.

A mixed-use residential tower

Cambodia street.

There are well-off people everywhere, after all.

Old town

Cambodia street.

I spotted Samsung while passing by, so I took a shot. There’s Honda too.

Woori Bank

Cambodia street.

Korean companies have made it here too.

Another Myungrang Hot Dog I found

Cambodia street.

There are several of them. Next door is a Japanese izakaya… I really respect the people who open shops and run businesses so far from home.
