Songdo has gained a lot of decent bakeries. That seems to be the vibe of the new towns these days.
Mill Bridge
I was walking past and heard they sold rye bread, so I went in.
Inside
Small, but a nicely put-together atmosphere.
Rye bread
Who would have thought a place like this would sell 100% rye bread.. I tried it, and it turned out to be rye bread of a satisfying quality (not gummy, with a slight sourness running through it).
Rusks
The breads
They all look good.
Sourdough
The grain sourdough was baked crisp on the outside and nutty on the inside, a flavour I can wholeheartedly recommend. Maybe it is because I am getting older, but I am growing fond of this scorched-rice kind of nuttiness..
Anna and Bread
This place is famous for its rye bread too, so I dropped by, but it had all sold out that day.
Breads like these
I would like to come back here some day as well.
Shuhet Bake Shop
This place looks seriously high-level too. Songdo seems to have become a battleground for bread.
