Walking down the streets of Hongdae, I spotted a place selling Hungarian chimney bread (kürtőskalács), so I went in.
This is the place
Fun concept.
This is the bread
Maybe because I came at night, there wasn’t much bread left.

Plenty of jazzed-up versions too.

The interior was pretty. I guess this is what Hongdae style looks like.

Chimney bread
If you actually search for Hungarian chimney bread, or Czech chimney bread, the usual version is pretty big. About the size of your forearm.. But this shop’s chimney bread was, well.. salt bread sized.. With a hole in the middle and butter in the dough, it didn’t taste all that different from a salt bread (shio-pan) either.. Still, it’s coiled up so there’s fun in tearing pieces off, and the cinnamon had more character than the plain, so I enjoyed it.. I suppose it’s a spin on the salt bread that’s so popular these days. That said, I’d say this place is better for a date than for the bread itself..
