Maybe it’s because of Sung Si-kyung? The line at Jinyeong Myeonok is so long that actually getting to eat there isn’t easy. But I got lucky this day and made it in.

It’s in a half-basement. By the time I arrived the day’s waiting list was already full and they weren’t taking anyone else, but plenty of people give up partway through and leave, so they open the list back up as they go. I turned up at just the right moment and got in after waiting about 30-40 minutes.

Naengmyeon

The portion is plenty and the broth has a deep meaty aroma, so I came away satisfied. They really are good at what they do. It deserves the popularity.

Side dishes

That said, there are plenty of other naengmyeon places at this level, so I’m not sure it’s food worth queuing up and timing your visit for. (It might make a good date course, though..) For my part, I’ll be content with having tried it once.
