The Baekkyung Pop-Up at The Hyundai in Yeouido

I heard Baekkyung Distillery was running a pop-up in Yeouido, so I went to take a look.

The bottles

You could buy every type they make, and on this day they even had the distilled spirits.

They had nuruk (traditional fermentation starter) too.

Clean and tasty. Being clean and a little sweet so it goes with Korean food is probably what sets it apart from Japanese sake.

The distilled spirits are good quality too, but the prices are up there. Seems like there’s not much they can do about it because of our liquor tax, but I hope it gets better soon.

Anyway, I feel places like this have to do well for the Korean drinks scene to grow. It’s impressive how much passion everyone puts into making their liquor.
