A while back I went to LE PAIN on Songnidan-gil and found out that the Mammoth is only sold in Myeongdong, so I came back for another go at it.
The Junior Mammoth
I got there early, but they told me the Mammoth is sold only at 3 o’clock, five a day. Then I glanced over and saw they were selling Junior Mammoths, and it’s a junior in name only – it’s the size of a regular Mammoth at any other shop. Packed with filling, too. I went back and forth on whether to wait, then just bought one. For the record, apparently these days you have to get there early or even the Junior Mammoth is hard to come by.

People sit in those chairs and wait until 3. With only five up for grabs, it looks like you’d have to arrive before 2:30 for queuing to be worth anything.
The Junior Mammoth
I think it’s the best Mammoth I’ve had so far. It’s so full of nuts and cream inside that it was almost hard to lift. No wonder bread this good at a reasonable price is popular. Apparently they sell frozen ones online, so buying them regularly might be an option. But you’d get sick of them if you bought too many at once, so once in a while is probably best.
