Tamaya, a Takoyaki Shop at Osaka’s USJ

TAKOPA is a space where about eight takoyaki shops famous in Osaka are gathered together. I had already stopped by Kukuru, so I figured I would try one more place, and the one that caught my eye the most was Tamaya.

Tamaya

This is what it looks like. Some guy out front kept calling out to passersby, and it turned out he was the owner.. a shop like this somehow feels trustworthy..

Omar ebi

They use a premium prawn called omar ebi (lobster) to make the dashi for their takoyaki.

Rock salt and sauce takoyaki

They were delicious takoyaki with a really deep prawn flavor. That said, the octopus did feel a bit smaller than at Kukuru.

A photo of IZ*ONE with the owner

Everyone famous has been here, it seems. An Yujin, Kwon Eunbi, Kim Chaewon, Jang Wonyoung and so on.. it suddenly made me envy the owner.

21-ji no Ice

It is a dessert shop, but the design was pretty so I took a photo.

Spider-Men

It is ramen, and since Nissin makes it, it does not taste bad at all. This kind of thing makes a good souvenir.

The view outside

Time to head out and see downtown Osaka.

The station

This is exactly the kind of scene that feels quintessentially Japanese.
