Seocho Myeongga at Nambu Terminal

Seocho Myeongga is a haemul-jjim (steamed seafood) specialist, the kind of old-timer that has been holding down this neighborhood forever.

A place like this

The inside is roomier than I expected.

The spread

Being able to have a drink before the main course shows up is, I’d say, the whole point of a Korean seafood restaurant.

Haemul-jjim

This is the small size, and it still comes out seriously generous. The freshness of the seafood really won me over too. I had wondered whether the price was a bit steep, but at this level I have no complaints at all.

Cut up nicely..

They trim it so it’s easy to pick up a piece at a time. It isn’t as spicy as it looks either, so it was a perfect soju snack for us middle-aged guys.

Seafood pajeon

This one is a serious portion too. It’s like seeing the generosity of this neighborhood.. perfectly optimised for a glass of soju.
