Apparently it’s read “pour pour pour.” I’d known for a while that Hongju had opened a bar, but I had no idea it was near Seoul Station. This neighborhood really is hot right now.

The atmosphere is really nice. If I lived around here I’d probably have become a regular.

Yoichi Grande

It’s a no-age-statement bottle sold only at duty-free, and while it’s a little rough it has some peat to it, which made it tasty. Ten thousand yen for a no-age statement is pricey, but the way things are these days I’ll take it and be grateful.

Blue cheese cake

This cheesecake is dense and seriously good. It’s also perfect as something to drink with. It’s a dessert that takes a lot of work to make, and having a signature item like this is surely why the place does so well.

Makgeolli

They said a good makgeolli had come in, so I was given a glass, and it’s delicious. These small pleasures are, I think, what pour pour pour does best. The only problem is that it’s in Gangbuk and that I have to take a taxi to get home. Taxi fares are no joke these days. I’m seriously wondering whether I should just take this as my cue and move to Gangbuk.
