In Hamamatsucho there’s a place called Donghae Banjeom, or Tokai Hanten in Japanese, and since it just looks like a neighbourhood diner I’d been ignoring it all this time.
This is the place
Who would ever believe a place like this is a great restaurant..
So I ordered the reba nira teishoku
It really is a big step down from the Dosanko I ate at not long ago. It’s not that it tastes bad, it’s just ordinary.
Yaki gyoza
But.. these plump gyoza were genuinely top level, something you can’t taste anywhere else.
The inside
They’re packed full, so they taste great and the portion is plenty. Gyoza like this are worth going out of your way for. A place that has survived this long really does have a trick up its sleeve..
