A friend of mine told me about a place in Ginza that does a great hamburg steak, so off I went. For the record, I’m no gourmet..
The place
I’ve spent plenty of time in Ginza, but I had no idea a place like this was here. Must be one of those neighborhood favorites.. The sign says a large helping of rice is free.
Inside
Simple.
Hamburg steak set
The hamburg steak is tasty, but it reminded me of Korean tteokgalbi.. A flavor like that might be unusual in Japan, but for me it was just a bit too familiar.
Rice
Rice served on a plate is the golden rule at a western restaurant.. And by the way, AOI is read letter by letter, “A-O-I”.
Anyway, it made for a decent meal, but it wasn’t really a must-visit.
A yakiniku place I passed on the way
Meat like this must suit Ginza perfectly, but the truth is there’s no one left for me to go to a place like this with.. And honestly, Shinbashi feels more comfortable to me than Ginza anyway..
