I had some time to spare, so I wandered around Ginza for a bit.

The regional specialty corner at a Ginza department store

In the basement of a Ginza department store there’s a corner where you can buy the signature items sent in by famous shops from all over the country. I’d assumed it was nothing special and had never paid it any attention, but I was surprised to find things like Ogawaken’s Raisin Wich and the Marron Sand from Enokitei, where I’d been before. I mean, why go all the way to Yokohama when the department store has it all.. The problem is that I’ve only just found this out, but if you’re coming to Japan on a short trip, I think you could make good use of the department stores to buy delicious regional specialties from all over the country.

After buying a Ken’s Cafe gateau chocolat at the department store, I moved on to Hooters. Going all the way to Shinjuku was a hassle, and I had no idea I could buy it in Ginza too.. It seems they’ve been opening branches all over the country lately, though..

For the record, Hooters isn’t really to my taste — I went because my friend likes it..
