I heard there was a good ramen shop over in Motomachi in Yokohama, so I went along. It is right near a bakery called O to U.
This kind of place
It is normally a very popular spot, but maybe because the day was hot, there was no queue at the ramen shop.
The place next door to the ramen shop
It looked kind of cool, so I took a photo..
The ramen menu
Broadly speaking, there was a salt-based chuka soba and a koji-based shio koji soba on the menu.
Chuka soba
The taste was clean and neatly put together, and I could feel the air of a famous shop about it. Best of all, you can order a small portion for 700 yen, which is nice. In a tourist spot like Yokohama there are plenty of other places to get to, after all.
Shio koji soba
With the koji in it the umami was strong and it was on the sweet side. I imagine some people will like this one and others will prefer ordinary ramen. My own taste ran to the ordinary chuka soba.
Bidama Stand
I had heard this place was good too and meant to drop in.. but it happened to be closed that day, so I only took a photo. There will be another chance sometime.
