There is an izakaya with the slightly odd name Yaki Hamaguriru, and its reviews were surprisingly good, so I went to check it out.

The fried Spanish mackerel lunch..

It really is a proper spread.

The portion was a bit small, but the mackerel itself tasted superb.

Yaki hamaguri

They grill the hamaguri clams for you, and they were pretty good.

Nice atmosphere, good food; a thoroughly satisfying lunch. I actually went back a few more times after this.. but I will save those for another post.
