I go to Polpo so often that it feels like home, so I’ll breeze through this one.
Wine
Starting off with a cava..
Tomato
Melon and prosciutto
Nibbles
We left it up to the chef that night, and this is the kind of menu that came out.
Avocado and octopus
This one was a big hit.
Wine
This is the bottle we brought along.
Probably wild boar steak
Cilantro salad
Trippa
Hanwoo beef and uni rolls
Whisky of the day
Someone had picked it up at duty-free; it was fine, nothing more.
Spring greens pasta
Blue crab rosé pasta
Got to have it again this year.
Eggplant pasta
Making it this way takes an enormous amount of work, but it was so good.
Cognac of the day
Ragnaud-Sabourin Florilège. A cognac that seems to have become a bit hard to find lately. Aged over 40 years and outstanding value for money. It taught me that cognac is a spirit you drink for the aroma.
After the first round we moved on to Opas for round two. Got to see a familiar face I hadn’t seen in a while, too..
Cocktail..
Had a drink and headed home.
