These days, whenever I’m craving something good, I head to a yakiniku place. Proof that I’ve turned into a middle-aged guy, maybe.. I’ve already been to Stamina-en a few times, so it feels familiar by now.
Makgeolli
Unusually, it comes in a tall glass.
Grilled vegetables
In place of a salad.
Beef tongue
Nice and tender.
I think this was the Showa-style kalbi..
It was fine, nothing special.
Wasabi kalbi
Wouldn’t feel right not ordering this..
Samgyeopsal (pork belly)
A different style from what you get in Korea.
Naengmyeon (cold noodles)
It’s Morioka-style reimen, so hmm.. I’d rather have the Korean style, even a cheap version of it.
Harami (skirt steak), I think..
A solid way to finish
Dessert
The ice cream looked unusual so I ordered it, and it turns out they hollow out real fruit to make it. Tastes great, and the visual is something else.
Dessert
The strawberries are filled with condensed milk. Since it’s real fruit, you don’t just eat the ice cream inside, you eat the whole thing.
Dessert
The melon is spot on too. I usually don’t expect much from dessert at a yakiniku place, but this is a really good idea. The taste and the price are both fine. It made me think, this is how you run a business.
