Before heading off to Japan, I couldn’t skip a visit to Molto’s new place in Sangam.
Roughly what it looks like
A lot of new things have popped up in Sangam. The center of Seoul is shifting, I suppose. The area around Molto is freshly built and still feels a bit unsettled, but the restaurant itself seemed to have found its footing nicely.
The plate
A glass of wine
Yellowtail carpaccio
Lovely presentation.
Bread
Red shrimp pasta, I think..
A lavish composition.
Probably the mackerel pasta
Molto means mackerel pasta, after all.
Roman-style chicken
The cooking was spot on, but I’d just had some incredibly good chicken in Kyoto not long before… and it’s hard to overcome a difference in ingredients..
Tiramisu
This came on the house, and it was excellent. Better than the tiramisu at Mafia Dessert.
Going with just a few people makes it hard to eat your way through the menu. I’d like to come back with a big group next time, but work is busy, so who knows when that’ll be..
