Stamina-en, a Yakiniku Restaurant in Toyosu

I stumbled on a place in Toyosu that I can honestly call the find of the year. It’s called Stamina-en, in a building right in front of the station, and the quality of the meat is just incredible. I was surprised to find it even better than Kameido Horumon.

You have to cook it through before eating.

I forget what this was, but it was all delicious.

And then I met the best beef tongue ever.

You can’t really tell from this angle.

Cross-section

stamina en

This is beef tongue.

Grilled…

stamina en

It’s an absurd thickness for beef tongue, but it was so tender that it wasn’t a problem to eat at all.

Pork

All the other meats were great too.

It was so good that I went back a week later.

Wasabi kalbi and tontoro (pork neck)

stamina en

Marinating it in wasabi gives it a really distinctive flavor. Once grilled, the heat disappears and only the aroma stays. It’s an unusual menu item you won’t find at other yakiniku places. Highly, highly recommended.

Horumon (offal)

stamina en

This place serves some really unusual yakiniku. If you like yakiniku, you absolutely have to try it once.
