Granny Smith, the Apple Pie Cafe in Aoyama

There’s an apple pie cafe in Aoyama that always has a line out front, so I dropped in while I was in the neighborhood. They’ve been opening branches around town lately, so you don’t really need to go to the original shop anymore, but the flagship still has a feel of its own.

If you look closely, they say they use coffee from Ogawa Coffee in Kyoto.

Apple pie

A standard apple pie. The price isn’t too steep either (for takeout), so I can see why it’s popular.

Orange juice

Roughly speaking, this is the range of apple pies they have.

There’s always a reason behind popularity. Still, it’s a bit off from what I’m after, so I don’t think I’ll be back.

Renewal notice at Pierre Hermé Aoyama

I meant to swing by since I was nearby, but it turned out to be closed for renovation. I’ll have to come back another time.
