Akasaka is home to Hie Shrine, a really big Shinto shrine. I was there that day for an acquaintance’s wedding.

It even has its own escalator. Quite a big place to find right in the middle of the city. I’d say it makes a decent sightseeing stop too.

Besides tourists, plenty of people seem to come for various ceremonies, Shichi-go-san and the like.

Apparently there’s some connection there. Anyway, the wedding went off without a hitch and the couple are doing well.
