I had a get-together in Hamamatsu, and we visited a temple to eat shojin ryori, Buddhist vegetarian cuisine.
It was just before the cherry blossoms bloomed.
Shojin ryori
Everything was made from mountain ingredients. Even the “unagi” was made of yuba, tofu skin.
The menu
Nothing spectacular taste-wise, but eating it at a temple is the whole point.
Sweets from Un Grain
Well… these are the best. I’ll definitely have to go back next time.
Hamamatsu gyoza
I ate the whole plate of gyoza by myself…
