When I have time I like to head somewhere far for a change of scenery, but when I’m busy it’s hard enough just finding good places in my own neighbourhood. In that sense Bongyo is a really handy spot. It’s fairly close to Hapjeong and stays open late, so it’s perfect for dropping in on the way home from work. Tomi’s Bakery is sort of on my way home too, but the sad part is that if you go late, most of the bread is gone. If you need to buy bread after 7, there’s no option other than Bongyo.
Breads like these
I didn’t actually go late this day, though…
This day’s picks
Surprisingly, the bagel was pretty decent.
The sandwich too…
The banana bread too…
Everything is reliably tasty. These days I only go round a handful of bakeries I’ve been focusing on, but I’m sure another new one will open in the meantime. I guess that’s the charm of the Hongdae area.
