I was at COEX, and when I am on my own there is only one place that comes to mind. It is a bit pricey, but Hadongkwan’s gomtang really is something special.

Eat a fair bit of the gomtang first, then pour in some of the kimchi juice. Delicious.

Gomtang

I do not think you can order the regular one anymore. Even the 15-gong (the 15,000 won bowl) feels a bit thin, and the sense is that you have to go for the 20-gong (20,000 won) before they pile on a decent amount of meat. Well, the broth alone is more than good enough. Have a bowl when you have a cold and you will witness the miracle of it being cured in an instant. Next time I catch a cold, I am making a vow to come back here.
