I had arranged to meet Ma-xx, a blogger and Twitter user who specialises in Hongdae, at Tuk Tuk Noodle Thai, but when I got there the door was shut with no notice about a day off. After waiting a bit and wondering where to go, we headed to Ipum Bunsik right next door. As someone who loves mandu (Korean dumplings), I had wanted to try it for a while, so it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

They call them “hyodo mandu”, filial-piety dumplings..
Mushroom wang mandu (giant steamed dumplings)
Tasty dumplings, stuffed to the brim. Great value for the price.
Fried mandu
The fried mandu were a decent standard. I was really craving a beer, but this place does not sell any alcohol at all. A bit of a shame, so I guess I will have to get takeout and eat them at home.
Tong mandu (boiled dumplings)
Dumplings made with this much care could hardly taste anything but great. If it were near me, I would be going all the time.

Tangerine tea, I think..
It was freezing that day, so something hot was very welcome.
Ochipong and pound cake
The Ochipong tasted just like it always has. The pound cake was rather ordinary.
Coffee
Being able to do a meal and dessert in one go is the charm of Hongdae, I suppose. Another good day of eating.
