Kamiya Bar, an Asakusa landmark, has a long history and is always packed with tourists. It is a place people love, but not exactly a great restaurant, so I never had a reason to go.. until somehow I ended up there.

Denki Bran

This is the house’s legendary whisky cocktail? It is a famous drink that even shows up in the manga Bartender. If you buy one of the gift bottles and drink it, you wonder how such an xxx of a drink can exist, but ordered at the original bar it is actually rather charming. It deserves its reputation as an Asakusa specialty.

Napolitan

Just fine, nothing special. Given the fame, the prices are not as high as you would think.

Kushikatsu

I remember it having onion and pork, and the freshness of the ingredients was impressive. Who would have thought a tourist-trap kind of restaurant could turn out food this properly made..

Gratin

This one was fine too. For a meal in Asakusa with a Denki Bran on the side, it leaves nothing to be desired. If any tourist is heading to Asakusa, I would strongly recommend it.
