I heard there was a place on Yangjaecheon with the fun concept of serving jokbal and noodles together, so I went to check it out. Turns out the staff are all ethnic Chinese. I was worried about the level of the food, but there was no need.
The basic side dishes
Very much in the style of a Chinese restaurant.
Spicy stir-fried pork skin with soybeans
Salty and chewy, it would make a nice snack with drinks.
Thai-style seafood salad
Well.. it was ordinary.
Jokbal, small size
Out comes a properly made, delicious jokbal. I was surprised at how good the quality was, better than I expected. Though Yangjaecheon is a slightly awkward place to go all the way to just for jokbal.
I tried the beef noodle soup and the Vietnamese rice noodles. The noodles themselves were ordinary, but the broth of the beef noodle soup was really refreshing. It seems like a decent neighborhood spot.
Fruit tarts from La fée Murmure
For dessert I brought out the fruit tarts I had bought on the way. Maybe because they use plenty of Le Gall butter, they have the elegance of a high-end dessert. The short shelf life is a bit of a concern, but with a taste like this, I would happily bring them along again next time.
