Boracay Trip Day 3 – Room Service and the Lobby Lounge

We spent the whole day happily doing water sports, but once we got back to the room the tiredness hit. So we decided to keep dinner simple and go with room service. Along with some perfectly ripe mango, of course..

Club sandwich

3rd day of boracay

We had ordered Italian/steak on the second day, so this time I went for a sandwich. It tasted good, and the portion was plenty even for two of us.

Chocolate

3rd day of boracay

This is the chocolate the resort sent up with room service, and it was so good. I asked whether I could buy some separately, but they do not sell it – they do sell cookies instead, so I bought a few to hand out as gifts. The Mandarin Oriental sells theirs, so this was a bit of a shame.

After dinner and a bit of a rest, I stopped by the gym for a quick workout. The gym was clean and the service was good, but it is mostly machines, so it was a little awkward for the kind of training I do. I did some light weight training and a run, then headed to the lobby lounge for a drink..

Caipirinha

lobby lounge at shangri-la, boracay

Apparently it is the cocktail that represents Brazil, and while the alcohol content is strong, the sugar in it makes it sweet and easy to drink. Good cocktails make travelling abroad even more enjoyable.

Mango dessert

In the Philippines, mango is the absolute truth.

Pina colada

It tastes great no matter when you drink it. The next day was our last, so it felt bittersweet. After a drink we went back to the room, watched a bit of TV and went to sleep.
