After the sushi we walked over slowly, partly to help digestion, to a German bakery called Achso in Hannam-dong. It was hard to judge on the map, and while it is within walking distance, it turned out to be quite far. But there was no decent public transport option, so we really had no choice..

Achso has moved.
It has moved inside a flower shop and cafe called blüte. I hunted around the old location for ages and could not find it, so I had to call them to finally track it down. Once inside, the place was smaller than I expected. Maybe sales were not going so well..
Bread
It looks extremely plain. It just feels like bread. French bread somehow has a much fancier image, doesn’t it.
Ordinary breads
There were fewer varieties than I expected, and some items had already sold out so I could not buy them.
There are some bigger loaves too.
They looked plain from the outside, but they tasted amazing. The Bretzel had a nice salty bite, the milk bun was gently sweet and went down beautifully, and the Brötchen was a solid standard. They are less hard or chewy than you might expect, but they are great eaten just as they are. I never imagined proper German bread could taste this good, so it really broadened my horizons. It felt like I had just come back from a German bread tour. They also make sandwiches to order in the shop, and those have me very curious too. The location is a bit awkward for me to get to, so I am not sure when I will be back, but if it were near my home this is a place I would visit often.
