I drank myself into a stupor at a wine gathering the night before, and when I woke up in the morning I was really craving some hangover food. Seolleung Station is just one stop from my place, so I strolled over to Hadongkwan in Gangnam. It sits right next to the POSCO building, but it is roughly halfway between Seolleung and Samseong stations, which honestly makes it a slightly awkward walk.
Teuk (special), 12,000 won
It is tasty. Personally I could not tell much difference from the main branch. For someone who eats for the love of food, weighing it against the price probably does not mean much, but by ordinary standards it is on the pricey side. I also thought the galbitang at Beodeunamujip might be more satisfying, and that place is closer to my home too. Still, being able to cure a hangover first thing in the morning is very welcome, so I think I will drop by now and then.
Kkakdugi and kimchi
Well, so-so. I thought the main branch did these better, but they are pretty much the same.
A mound of green onions
You have to pile them on generously for the broth to taste really refreshing. After a hearty hangover-curing breakfast, I headed to COEX to see a movie. It was Thor; I booked online in the morning and went straight over to see it, which was convenient. The film itself did not have much substance, but let’s look forward to the next one in the series.
