I went out to Shinjuku for lunch and really struggled to decide where to go. Having come all the way to Tokyo, I couldn’t just eat any old thing. So I headed to the Park Hyatt hotel in Shinjuku, making a walk of it too.

I kept wondering when it would get destroyed, but it’s still standing just fine. What is Kamui even doing..
Finally I arrived at the Park Hyatt, where the Delicatessen is on the first floor. They sell all sorts of ingredients, and at lunchtime they offer lunch sets at relatively reasonable prices.
The Delicatessen’s sandwich lunch
A proper lunch menu, with tea and even dessert along with the sandwich. It came to a little over 1,000 yen.

As expected, the reason I picked this sandwich was that the dessert looked good..

The taste was nothing special.
A berry tea bag called “Relief”
At first I looked down on it for being a tea bag, but it smelled lovely and was hardly any different from properly brewed tea. I really enjoyed it.

This one was just so-so..
Orange cake
It was packed with little bits of orange. Sooo delicious. So I asked if I could order it separately, and they said it only comes with the lunch set. That was a bit of a shame. The sandwich was ordinary, but the tea and cake were delicious, so overall it was a very satisfying lunch.
Hot water
When I went to steep another cup of tea, they brought out this cute little pitcher. Both the service and the interior were exactly the level you’d expect from a first-class hotel.
The government building again
Having eaten well, I thought I’d take a walk around the area, but there were so many homeless people for some reason.. so I just headed straight for my next destination.
