A Branch of Kamukura Ramen in Namba, Osaka

I had to go to the Philippines for some company training. The flight left Kansai Airport in Osaka at 10 in the morning, and there was no way I could get to Osaka that same morning, so I set off the day before.

Dotonbori in the early morning

This neighborhood is always lively, which puts me in a good mood. Especially in a recession like this one.

A branch of Kamukura Ramen

This is a branch of Kamukura Ramen, famous for its “Oishii Ramen”. It was just past 5 a.m., yet the line was no joke, and inside was nearly full too. The place was packed with dressed-up young women and hosts. Osaka at night really is something.

With the logo printed nice and clearly…

Oishii Ramen with extra chashu

It’s been a while since I last had Oishii Ramen. Maybe because it’s a branch, the taste was a bit off. The vegetables are supposed to soak into the broth, but they felt like they were doing their own thing. Well, even so it wasn’t bad, and getting ramen this good at this hour of the morning is no easy thing, so I’d call it decent.

Noodles

Just so-so.

Chives

This is the item that makes a perfect match with the Oishii Ramen broth. Without it, my opinion of Kamukura Ramen would probably be different.

I had a good meal and headed straight for the airport. Being so early in the morning, I’m really, really tired.
