Hommage, a French Restaurant in Asakusa, Part 2

At last, the mains arrive.
Roast pork shoulder

It’s pork, but it isn’t cooked well-done ^_^ The portion is generous and the flavor is bold. On top of that, every single piece of the garnish tastes great. They really know how to use vegetables.
Baked lamb mince pie

Minced lamb wrapped in pastry and baked.
The inside

It came out a little blurry. Lamb dishes usually have a strong flavor, so plenty of people don’t like them, but eaten with the pastry it gets so good that even lamb-haters would be won over. I never imagined, before tasting it, that savory pastry and spicy lamb would go together this well.
Tachiuo (cutlassfish) in white wine cream sauce

With that much fresh fish and vegetables, how could it not be good? At Korean restaurants the main is always beef tenderloin -_- I wish we could enjoy a wider variety of mains like these. Of course, before that happens, Koreans’ belief that the main has to be beef would need to change.
Now on to the desserts. I did write the names down, but this place basically has no menu (the menu changes often), so I may have gotten some wrong.
Marquise au chocolat

Rich, intense chocolate. The chocoholics at the table loved it.

Roasted almond bavarois

The bread studded with chocolate is delicious. And as always, the ice cream is the tragic hero that melts while I’m taking photos.
Bread pudding

Nutty, with a coconut-milk flavor. Probably the best dessert of the day.
Iced coffee

Free refills ^_^
Herbal tea

What I ordered..
Nama chocolate and matcha madeleines

Both the matcha madeleines and the nama chocolate are as good as any specialty shop’s.
For the first time in a while, I enjoyed a really leisurely, delicious lunch with great company. Every now and then life gives you a fun day like this. Not every day, maybe, but I should make time for get-togethers like this more often.
