These days I find places to eat on Google Maps. Out in the countryside you use Google Maps a lot when driving, and the spots where Google Maps users often park are, by definition, places lots of people go, so it helps you figure out which new places are getting popular. Google is really good at that kind of thing. Companies with the data really do rule. Anyway, if you open the map and poke around, it recommends all sorts of places, and the hit rate is pretty high. Barrack Stand is one of those. Its opening hours are short, though, so it isn’t that easy to get to.
Barrack Stand
The concept seems to be something like Mad Max in the middle of the desert.
There are tables too..
You order a crepe and eat it here.
Menu
There’s the Sugar Butter series and everything else, so of course I had to order one of each.
Inside
They’ve cut a boat in half… is this Waterworld?
This kind of vibe..
The rest looks like this..
There’s also this space, but I’m not really sure what it’s for.
There are chairs too, but it was too hot to sit that day..
There’s even a bonsai..
Where does this kind of taste even come from…
There’s a wood stove too.
Such quirky decor..
Strawberry cream cheese crepe
Packed with cream, and the crepe itself is delicious. If it’s too thick it’s no good, but theirs was just right.
Sugar butter cinnamon crepe
You get sugar crystals crunching between the warm layers of crepe, and it tastes really refined. The world is big and full of great crepes.
