This is already my third visit this year. Once the weather cools down, I will probably end up coming a few more times.

Cabbage

I ordered the cabbage instead of the bean sprouts. The seasoning is on the strong side, so it is tasty even eaten just like this.

Beef tongue

With Japanese-style yakiniku, the proper way is to start with the beef tongue. Its flavor is delicate, so eating it before the other dishes lets you taste it properly, and it cooks quickly without sticking to the grill. The springy chew is the best part, of course. The tongue here is first-rate too.

Nikomi (simmered offal)

I ordered this as a side to go with drinks. The meat is just so good that it gets overshadowed, but the nikomi is plenty tasty in its own right.

Kalbi

I went with the regular kalbi instead of the jo-kalbi this time, and hmm.. unless you are planning to eat a lot of kalbi, the jo-kalbi really does seem to be the more satisfying choice. The regular one melts nicely and is all good, but you only live once, after all.

Harami (skirt steak)

This one had the better chew. Not quite the melt-in-your-mouth fattiness of the kalbi, of course.

Tontoro (pork jowl) and seseri (chicken neck)

I finished off with some lighter cuts. Even the non-offal items are plenty good here. Come autumn, I will have to come back for the jo-kalbi.

Naengmyeon

There was naengmyeon on the meal menu so I tried it, but it falls well short of Korean naengmyeon. A little disappointing, but that is just how it is. Next time I will try some of the other side dishes.

Gelato (Venchi) from Eataly in atre at Kameido Station

There is a place inside the station selling decent gelato, so I had a quick palate cleanser. It is perfectly edible at this level. Another really delicious meal, and everyone I have brought along so far has been happy with it too. I have a strong feeling I am going to become a regular here. For now, though, it is far too hot, so I just hope the weather cools down soon.
