Chunlima Mart in Daerim and its baijiu

After a trip to China I have gotten interested in China in general. Baijiu, the Chinese liquor, is what really got me hooked.

Xifengjiu, Jiannanchun and so on..

Baijiu 202602.

It looks like just about the whole Xifengjiu range has made it into Korea now. It is a feng-xiang style, so it smells lovely, and if you get the chance I would recommend giving it a try.

Xifengjiu here too

Baijiu 202602.

There is Xiao Hutu Shen as well, all sorts of bottles here.

Daerim Market at night

Baijiu 202602.

Now that I am into baijiu, I find myself dropping by all the time.

Xueyuan

Baijiu 202602.

I cannot believe this one is still going.. anyway, it is a perfectly drinkable, good-value baijiu. Baijiu tastes good and clean even when it is cheap. There are not many that are undrinkable just because they sit at the bottom of the price range.

Luzhou Laojiao Black

Baijiu 202602.

This one felt a bit thin.. it seems to have been made to go after Yantai Guniang..

Quanjiafu

Baijiu 202602.

This one was decent enough.

Shaoxing wine

Baijiu 202602.

This is the Shaoxing wine sold in Korea, and it turns out there are Taiwanese ones and Chinese ones.

Ziyue

Baijiu 202602.

They say it is the upmarket version of Kongfu Jiajiu, and they have been marketing it hard lately.

On sale

Baijiu 202602.

Even allowing for it being erguotou, I cannot work out how a bottle of liquor gets this cheap..

Bainian Hutu

Baijiu 202602.

I think it may be the best of the cheap nong-xiang bottles. And this size is just right for a quiet drink on your own.

Xinghuacun Fenjiu

Baijiu 202602.

This fenjiu really is great value. The alcohol does poke out a little, but at this price and this strength, a flavor that goes with roughly any Chinese dish simply cannot exist elsewhere. It is clean-tasting, so they say it works with seafood too. That is why it sells so incredibly well back in China. The strong stuff a wuxia hero would order with a single plate of peanuts on the side is probably this fenjiu, I would say.
