Hyomo in Jamsil is a popular bakery, but it’s closed on Saturdays, so I’d never managed to go. Somehow I found some free time on a Sunday, though, and finally got to visit.

The place

I arrived about 30 minutes before opening, and there was already quite a line.

Breads

Even at a glance, the quality looks good.

There’s whole wheat and rye too.

The Laugenzopf tastes like a salt bread with a crispy crust, and the scones seem to be popular too. The rye bread had just the right amount of sourness and was delicious.

The line is long, but the flow is well organised, so I could buy without waiting too long, and it was nice that they had already baked plenty of bread, so even arriving a bit late I didn’t have to worry about it selling out right away. A bakery this popular should manage at least that much… If the line is just long and slow and everything sells out immediately, there’s no point in going… On top of that, the prices are reasonable, so buying a big haul wasn’t a burden either.
