There was exactly one reason I dropped in on Baguettine this time: to buy a baguette.. Last time round they’d sold out and I couldn’t get one.

The shop

There are set times when the baguettes come out, but lately at weekends they seem to be baking them continuously. So I turned up somewhere in the middle of the day and there were still some left.

The atmosphere

Apart from the baguettes there was hardly any other bread left.

They had a wholemeal baguette as well as the plain one, so I bought both.

Inside

Tasting them, the wholemeal one seemed a little nuttier, but both were delicious – it’s just that they have different characters. Either way, both were top-class baguettes. I’m a fan. It would be nice if they were a bit easier to get hold of, but you can’t really ask that much of a place this popular..
