I found Gullim in Nonhyeon purely by chance, just walking down the street. I suppose I was lucky. It moved to Seongsu a long time ago now, and this was close to the very end of its run here.
The entrance
One look and you can tell the presence here is no joke.
The sign
Not Gulim, the Korean typeface it shares a name with..
The bread
It looks like a one-person operation, and yet they make all sorts of bread.
Close-up
Close-up
It really is hard to decide what to buy.
Menu items like these
The drinks menu
Pepero
I bought it as a Pepero Day present to myself..
Fig
As you can see, it is delicious.
European pear
The level here is high.
Perilla leaf, sausage, olive and cheese
Just right to eat as a meal. The perilla leaf goes really well with the sausage.
I never once imagined a near top-level bakery had been sitting right around Nonhyeon. But seeing that very shop move to Seongsu, I suppose Seongsu could not help but be the hot neighborhood.
