Boulangerie L’écrin in Ginza

Ginza has plenty of good bakeries, but even among them a few really stand out. Places like Centre The Bakery have such long lines these days that I don’t even dare to go. L’écrin is famous as a French restaurant, so when I heard they had opened a bakery, I had high hopes.

It’s small, but there’s a good variety.

They really make everything the proper French way.

Pain de mie

The 750-yen loaf seemed to be their signature, so I brought one home… and yes, it’s really good. So rich with butter it practically drips. Ginza quality, as expected.
