Part of the reason for doing a first round in Shimbashi was so we could head to Ginza for round two. This bar is run by Kazuo Ueda, the inventor of the hard shake. It’s famous and I’d wanted to visit for ages, but going alone felt a bit awkward.

Honestly, the cocktails weren’t quite to my taste. But the shaking was every bit as brilliant as the rumours say. I have no idea how his shaking form can be so completely unwavering. I recommend seeing it for yourself.
