There are so many canned goods out there that I only managed to get through a fraction of them.
Oil Sardines
Cheap and tasty.
Seasoned Sanma (Pacific Saury)
Cheap and delicious, as expected. It’s a Maruha Nichiro can, and they’re clearly working hard in this department too.
Ça va? (Sava can)
Mackerel marinated in olive oil, and quite an upscale can at that.
Shinjuku Nakamuraya’s Indo Curry Chicken
This one was nicely seasoned and tasty too. After testing a bunch of these, I found that pork and beef cans have too much fat and don’t taste great eaten cold. The lean, light chicken cans turned out to be the best of the lot.
Morning-Catch Iwashi (Sardines) Simmered in Miso
This is the kind of thing that makes the rice disappear fast.
Casa de Bar
A can built around the idea of a dish you can eat at home right out of the tin with no fuss, and it’s not bad at all. The catch is that it’s a bit pricey too.
