Here’s a round-up of the various things I picked up at the supermarket.
Infiniment Citron
It’s a new release, but it’s about on par with the existing lineup.
Apricot, strawberry, blueberry
This whole series is delicious to begin with, and the limited editions don’t disappoint either. Ohayo is a name worth remembering.
Daimanzoku Mikan
It really is packed with mikan. Maruha Nichiro is quite a company. Makes me want to buy some of their stock… though it’s already up about 10% since the days I first found this tasty. Should have bought in earlier…
Smoked pork tongue from a convenience store
I can’t help but be amazed that a snack like this is sold at a convenience store. The smoky aroma and that springy texture unique to tongue are excellent.
Smoked chicken breast
Also excellent, as expected.
Top’s chocolate pudding
It tastes just like Top’s cake. Hard to believe you can buy a pudding like this at a supermarket…
Takachiho Farm
Being able to buy a yogurt made in Kyushu in Odaiba is so very Japan. Of all the premium yogurts, this is my favorite brand.
Wasabeef
They’re potato chips, but the wasabi really packs a tingling punch. Not sure about the beef flavor though…
Calbee’s Jagarico
Jagarico got an upgrade. Tasty…
The Premium Malt’s Hop Nouveau 2016, brewed with freshly picked hops
So good that I drank it quite often.
I think that’s the charm of Japan: you can have a pretty decent gourmet experience without spending much. A gourmet life is possible in Korea too, of course. It just takes a lot more effort.
