Wonheung, a Chinese-Run Chinese Restaurant in Da-dong

Wonheung is probably the most famous Chinese restaurant around City Hall. It’s known for its tasty jjamppong and the long lunchtime queue. A bit of a shame that you can’t order proper dishes at lunch because of the turnover. Then again, I rarely have a reason to come here for dinner either…

The sign

wonheung

Much loved by the office workers in the area.

Pickled radish

wonheung

With the turnover this high, this is how it’s served. The seating is on the cramped side too.

Jjamppong

wonheung

A slight smoky wok flavour and generous toppings. Not too aggressive either. I could see why it’s so popular.

The noodles

wonheung

The noodles are about average.

This time, jjamppong-bap

wonheung

Jjamppong-bap

wonheung

Not much difference. It’s just noodles versus rice.

Jajangmyeon

wonheung

The jajangmyeon is good too, a cut above your typical neighbourhood favourite. It’s a solid place, so I went often when I was working near City Hall.
