Before I travel abroad I always stop by the duty free shops. If you time the regular sales right, you can pick up decent fashion items cheaper than at an outlet. (Scored again this time -_-v. June and December have the big sales, so there is plenty worth grabbing.) Anyway… after a trip to the Shilla duty free shop, when the clock says it is time for lunch, the place that comes to mind first is Pyeongyang Myeonok in Jangchung-dong. It is a bit far to walk, but I can hardly go for jokbal instead, and The Library is nice as a café, though the portions are a bit much to order for one person.

Tasty as always. If Pyeongyang Myeonok were just a little cheaper I could be a regular, but at these prices, hmm…

Naengmyeon
They cut the noodles for you without being asked. This place can be hit or miss, but the last few times I went it was all good. Glad I got through another year eating my fill of Pyeongyang naengmyeon.
